OUR BEDROOM~~Cherubs, Roses and MORE!

I never really planned to redo our bedroom. Once again, it just happened. I found two wonderful old wood hand painted pieces with chubby little cherubs and roses, and knew I would have to redo the whole room to go with those fabulous pieces. They have such an old romantic feeling to them. When I found the old beaded chandelier with the aqua beads, I knew this would be a keeper. Then I found that wonderful unfinished painting on canvas of two cherubs. So, it seemed like I had a direction, cherubs and roses with touches of aqua or robins egg blue, and some of my favorite things.

I love old dressers and vanities with the original creamy butter yellow paint. I kept finding others that I liked more and trading them out. My husband was starting to get used to me dumping out his socks and I love old dressers and vanities with the original creamy butter yellow paint. I kept finding others that I liked more and trading them out. My husband was starting to get used to me dumping out his socks and throwing them back into his new sock drawer of the new dresser that I liked better. One time when I had my husband and son rotating 8 pieces of furniture between our bedroom, the guest bedroom, and out to the store, my son said they all looked the same and asked why did I have to keep changing them (guys don't appreciate the little details!) So, the last set with the gold garland accents has been the one I have kept and loved.

Then on each of our buying trips, I've added a few more pieces that "I couldn't live without”. The wonderful old mantel top above our bed, the chippy pale aqua cabinet top, our old wicker pieces and corner unit are a few of my favorite things. Of course, I love architectural, and have several of those pieces too. Another favorite piece is the little glass cabinet, which I filled with old lace and other small treasures. And I LOVE shelves of any kind, because you can fill them up. I started keeping the old chintz pieces that had little chips or cracks, and that’s how that collection started.

And how does my husband feel about all the roses and cherubs in our room? With the exception of the 30 pillows (honest-there really aren't that many) on the bed, he finds the room very nostalgia with a romantic homey feeling. And then of course there is my favorite wicker chair and ottoman that he has tripped over several times. He has threatened to list in on ebay if he trips over it one more time. I really can't understand~its been in the same place for years, he should be used to walking around it by now! And ~~it is one of my favorites!

And even though this is really our bedroom, Pooders thinks the bed is hers. It is one of her favorite places to take a catnap!
