MY FAVORITE GREEN CABINET & VINTAGE WEDDING TOPPERS I'm sure as I add pictures, I will be referring to them as "my favorite" a lot. I usually buy what I love, and then try to find a place for it, so our home has a lot of "my favorites". About three years ago, my husband and I were on a buying trip to the South during our anniversary week. I saw this killer green cabinet and he bought it for our anniversary gift. Of course it needed a little work~a top shelf, new glass, and the bottom two cabinet doors were missing. After many hours of lovingly labor, it now sits along the wall where our living room and dining room come together. It is all the original paint (except the bottom two doors and one shelf) Then came the fun part~what do you display in it? We had our parents wedding cake toppers and ours was kinda starting to look a little vintage! So I gathered a few other wedding related items~the shoes I wore at our wedding, the flower girl basket that I carried as a flower girl, the wedding dress for my Barbie doll hand made by a special neighbor when I was young, a relatives "The Wedding" book, and some old lace. And I displayed them in our "anniversary cabinet". Well, I loved the look, but it needed more "stuff", so each time I would find a new topper, I would add it~~and ~~thus began my bride and groom collection! Our daughter got married a year ago, and borrowed our wedding cake topper for her cake. So, this is that one, and I guess you could say that is my favorite one |
