Christie describes the simple way in which she was first moved to paint: "My career began with a trip to a neighborhood boutique," Christie says. "Every week the shopkeeper displayed a new arrangement of flowers on the table. I kept returning to see what the next one would be. One day a simple but utterly charming rusty old can had been filled with greenery and delphiniums. It gave off such a warm country feel - I went right home to paint my own interpretation. The store then sold the painting in four days flat." A trip to her studio and art lovers everywhere agree she paints from the bottom of her heart. | ||
Hydrangeas and pansies occasionally make their way onto Christie's canvasses. |
